Yes — CompareKit is fully multilingual. If your Shopify store has more than one language, shoppers see the compare experience in the language they're browsing in. Here's how each part works.
Widget interface
The widget's built-in text — buttons, search bar, results headings, and so on — automatically follows the shopper's storefront language. No setup needed: it uses the language of the page the shopper is viewing (for example, a store with English and Greek shows Greek text on /el/ pages).
AI comparison tables and summaries
When a shopper runs a comparison, the AI generates the entire result in their language — spec labels, values, and the recommendation summary. A shopper browsing your Greek storefront gets a Greek comparison table; a shopper on your English pages gets English. This happens automatically for every language your store supports.
Custom button labels
If you've customized labels (like the Button label or Compare now text), the custom text appears on your store's primary language right away. To carry it over to your other languages:
- In CompareKit, open Settings and scroll to the widget's label fields.
- Below them you'll find Label translations (shown when your store has more than one language).
- Click Auto-translate — AI fills in a translation for each language. You can edit any of them.
- Click Save. Your storefront picks up the change on the next page load.
Product names and descriptions
Product titles and content shown in comparisons come from your Shopify catalog. To display those in other languages, translate your products in Shopify (Settings → Languages, or a translation app) — CompareKit will show whatever your store serves for that language.
Quick answers
- Do I need to configure anything for the widget text? No — it follows the shopper's language automatically.
- Are AI comparisons translated live? They're generated directly in the shopper's language, and each language gets its own result.
- What if a translation of my custom label looks off? Edit it in the Label translations table and save — manual edits are never overwritten.
